Thanks for stopping by!

Like many of you, my love affair with music began when I opened the door on my teenage years. For me, those years were the mid-1980’s with hair metal and shredding guitar. My dad took me guitar shopping to celebrate my 14th birthday so I could join in the the fun. In my long haired high school years, I was fascinated by guitar gods like Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Randy Rhoads and Jeff Beck and locked myself away in my bedroom to learn their best riffs and licks. By the time I was 18, I was still very much in love with music but decided by set my guitar aside in exchange for interviewing the legends I looked up to and soon began photographing them as they set foot on stage in my hometown.

My photography here on my site, is a celebration of the love I have for music. My early 1990s film photography covers a transition of the wild times of hair metal to the melancholy takeover of grunge and alternative. My digital photography from 2010 until today is an eclectic mix of all genres of music in addition to portraiture, places I enjoy visiting, and whatever may catch my eye at any given moment.

My music photography has appeared regionally in Music Revue and GRNow.com and around the world in Guitar Player, Vintage Guitar, RIP Magazine, Hit Parader, Kerrang, BURRN, Young Guitar, and in Ernie Ball campaigns among many music and entertainment publications. My music photography, has also been showcased in the museum exhibition Lights, Camera, Rock ‘n’ Roll here in Michigan. Outside of music, I love showing off the beautiful area I live in through photos I capture for Experience Grand Rapids.

I truly hope you enjoy the body of work I’ve created over nearly 30 years! If you’re looking for a photographer to help you visually tell the story of your music, show the world your essence with a portrait, or capture the beauty of your scenery or architecture, I’d be honored to work with you!
